TRAINING PROGRAM
Every horse receives a personal training program which will be planned together with the owner, trainer and the capabilities of our facility. All horses are trained in groundwork; most maneuvers are taught on the ground first, before we do it from the saddle. Obstacles are negotiated, until the horse learns to put trust in the rider and not to do it out of fear. During the training program it is encouraged that the owner will participate and learn with the horse. The horse is a very social and sensitive animal and does clearly recognize different riders. The Ride Light Team offers you a great place to ride, play and learn with your horse.
Our training programs are all based on working with the horses, making the right thing easy, the wrong thing more difficult. During the training process we gradually build up "aids" when needed and soften them as soon as we can. When we get through their minds, we get to their feet, and that is where we want to have results. Our methods are based on patience, respect and understanding, as practiced by many natural horsemen. We use an eclectic approach, where proven methods from different disciplines (dressage, carriage driving, western, saddle-seat etc) are tried, taught and trained.
